Pseudoacanthosis Nigricans

Acanthosis nigrans (AN) is a condition where dark discoloration occurs in the body folds and creases. It also affects the armpits, groin, and neck. A benign variant of AN is known as psuedoacanthosis nigricans, where reversible skin manifestation occurs with obesity. There is no specific treatment for this condition. Topical retinoids, dermabrasion, and laser therapy are used to improve cosmetic appearance.
