Medical Conditions - Coronary Atherectomy

A medical treatment called a coronary atherectomy removes plaque buildup from the arteries that feed blood to the heart in order to treat coronary artery disease (CAD). A customized catheter with a revolving cutting tool or laser at its tip is introduced into the constricted or obstructed coronary artery during this minimally invasive operation. The plaque is then removed by shaving or vaporizing the device, which widens and opens up the blood flow route. To increase blood flow and lower the risk of issues connected to the heart, coronary atherectomy is frequently performed in conjunction with other cardiac treatments such as angioplasty and stent implantation.
