Propionibacterium acnes is also called cutibacterium acnes. It is a slow-growing, anaerobic, and gram-positive bacteria. It causes acne in the skin. It also causes chronic blepharitis and endophthalmitis after undergoing intraocular surgery. Penicillin and Cephalosporins are effective against propionibacterium acnes.
