Dental veneers are thin sheets of tooth-colored shells that are placed on the front tooth surface to improve the tooth’s appearance. The problems with the color, shape, size, and length of the front teeth can be solved using veneers. They are also used if the front tooth is chipped or broken. Veneers are fabricated from porcelain or resin composite. Typically, before applying veneers, the tooth is ground and prepared to receive the veneer. Nowadays, no-prep veneers are available which can be just bonded to the teeth without grinding them, for example, Lumineers and Vivaneeres. Unlike a dental crown, veneers only cover the front portion of the tooth.
