Amenorrhea

Dr. Farzana Roshan. M., BAMS

Medical Case Details:

The patient is 24-year-old female. She is suffering from delayed menstruation for 7 months. LMP - March. No periods till now. Her USG report does not show any abnormality, and thyroid hormones are in the normal range. No other complaints except anemia and obesity. I have been giving her Raja Pravartini, Kumaryasavam, and Ashokarishta for the past month, but no periods until now. Any other medications for faster results?

It is necessary to do an MRI of the pituitary gland: if she gave birth - see if there is Sheehan's syndrome, if she did not give birth - if there is a pituitary adenoma (hypothalamic-pituitary hypogonadism). Also see the profile of the adrenal glands. View the level of fullicle-stimulating hormone, estradiol, progesterone, androgens including testosterone. Make a smear for cytology from the cervix. Make a physical examination to determine if uterine amenorrhea is present. We need to work systematically.

It is better to do hormonal profile. May be a case of premature ovarian failure.
Marital history, obstetric history?

Anemia and obesity may also be the reason for amenorrhea. From Ayurvedic view, you need to do taila prayoga.
