What are the treatment options for recurrent stains in tooth?

Medical Case Details:

A young female patient reported at the clinic with complaints of dental stains. The stains get deposited very frequently. Every month, she reports for scaling. Although advised for oil pulling and mouthwash, she gets stains very often. Can anyone please suggest further steps to stop this?

She needs proper case history and examination.
May be patient is taking medications
May be she had malocclusion
Taking tea,coeffee frequently.
In these cases medication and scaling are not enough.
patient needs to be educated how to keep oral hygiene and in case there is malocclusion it needs to be corrected.
Prevention is always better than cure.
if you can share her detailed case history.

Which mouthwash is she using or commonly uses?
Chlorhexidine staining is also quite common.

Dear Priyanga
Please take detail history of any medication,paan masala or beverages consumed by the patient and a note on chlorhexidine mouth rinse as it also causes staining. Evaluate whether stains are intrinsic or extrinsic and educate the patient about it

the patient is not under any medication. and no other tea coffee habits.
there is no malocclusion present.
the stains seem to be extrinsic
rexidine mouthwash been prescribed

Mouth wash in itself can cause stains if prescribed for more than 15 days.
Gastroesophageal reflux disease can be cause and people have such kind of diseases often un noticed
Occupation is another case working with chemicals or in a factory.

So chlorhexidine staining seems to be the most probable cause of the continuous staining because of the prescription you have mentioned.
You can change it to Freshchlor or Herbal mouthwashes like Hiora or any other but not one with Chlorhexidine gluconate in it.
I am myself prone to it so know how frequently it reappears
That’s why I have stopped using CHX now.

I guess she's developing stains prior use of rexidine mouth wash in prolong period . Is such cases try scaling and bleaching advise mild mouth wash like colgate ,if reqd ask the patient to dilute the amount nd if she brings back same histry next time get a picture
