Medical Case Details:

Many patients are complaining about hair fall after they stop using Minoxidil.

Is that necessary to use Minoxidil life long or is there any prescribed time period for its use?

Usually minoxidil is used life long for males specially and if the patient stop it hair fall recure , instead you can prescribe propecia 1 mg ( fenastride) oral tablet, but watch out as it can lead to Erectile dysfunction in 0.5% of patients
while in female the issue is different , if the patient has hormonal problem like PCO or mosaic CAH you can prescribe minoxidil till the hormonal treatment start to show results and when the minoxidil is stopped then the hair fall will not recure.
