Hi, in view of very weak immunity status of newborn baby and no IgG antibodies from mother, a newborn baby is at high risk.
Relating to old experience of RSV virus infection in our NICU, we faced a tough time with some mortality and forced to close NICU.
So be careful, treat aggressively and keep low threshold for ventilatory support. Rule out any bacterial infection and avoid antibiotic.

Hello! Are you referring to the COVID-19? There is a reported case in London of a newborn baby infected with COVID-19 and is currently recovering and out of danger. At present what we know so far is that, children infected with COVID-19 are mostly showing mild symptoms however there isn't enough information yet to whether babies would also fall into this category since newborns are particularly vulnerable. Considering the available data that we have, the mortality rate of COVID-19 does not curve at both age groups, and affects mostly the elderly especially those with co-morbidities. At present, there are no reported mortality yet among ages 0-9 years old. I hope these helps.
