Cold Water Sensation

Raynaud's disease is a condition that decreases blood to the fingers and toes and sometimes in the legs and knees. When blood cannot get to the skin's surface, the affected areas turn white and blue, with a cold or numbing sensation. The exact cause is unknown, but it may happen when blood vessels in the hands and feet appear to overreact to cold temperatures or stress. Treatment for Raynaud's may include drugs to keep the blood vessels open, such as calcium channel blockers and vasodilators.
