When an excessive force or load is given to a soft tissue beyond its bearable limit, a fall, any sudden impact, a car crash can cause inflammation and irritation. It usually resolves in four to six weeks. Some self-care measures can help relieve pain and inflammation and faster recovery. The treatment includes restricting activities and taking rest, restarting slowly to activities, applying hot and ice packs, and some pain medications.
