Grommet

A grommet is a ventilating tube inserted into the tympanic membrane. It helps treat middle ear infections and otitis media with effusion that occurs more than six months. Grommets allow air in and out of the ears. A small opening is made in the eardrum, and the fluid inside it is sucked using a sucker, and then, the grommet is placed in the opening of the eardrum under general anesthesia. It takes around ten to twenty minutes to complete this procedure.
