Gummy Smile

A gummy smile is when there is an excessive display of the gingiva when a person smiles. Gummy smiles are more commonly seen in women than in men, especially those in their 20s and 30s, and the incidence decreases overage. A gummy smile can be treated by a gingivectomy or gum contouring.
