Left Heart Failure

Left heart failure occurs when the left ventricle of the heart does not pump efficiently. It prevents the body from getting enough oxygen-rich blood. The blood gets backed up to the lungs causing shortness of breath and fluid buildup. The symptoms are irregular heartbeat, fatigue, weakness, swellings in the legs, ankles, and feet. It is treated by taking medications, and surgery is done in severe cases.
