Lung Scarring

Lung scarring makes the lung tissue thick and stiff. When the lung tissue thickens, it becomes difficult for the lungs to transfer oxygen into the bloodstream. This results in the brain and other organs not receive enough oxygen. Also, scarring of the lungs increases the risk of lung cancer.
