Macular Scar

Macular scar refers to the fibrous tissue growth that forms in place of normal retinal tissue on the macular area. Macular holes, age-related macular degeneration, and macular detachment are common causes of this condition. Blurry vision is the most common symptom. In patients with mild symptoms, treatment is not required; however, surgery might be necessary in severe cases.
