BCC stands for basal cell carcinoma. It is a nonmelanocytic skin tumor that develops from basal cells. It is caused due to repeated and unprotected UV radiation from sunlight. People working at the beach and spending time on outsports have a high risk of developing BCC. It initiates as a white waxy lump on the sun-exposed areas of the skin. BCC is treated by surgery to remove cancerous cells, topical chemotherapy, cryotherapy, radiotherapy, and targeted therapy.
