Pip Joint Fracture

Injuries to the proximal interphalangeal joint (PIP) are frequent in amateur and professional sports. Axial loads placed on flexed joints frequently result in fracture-dislocations of the proximal interphalangeal joint of the finger. The most frequent injury pattern is a middle phalanx dorsal fracture dislocation with a volar lip fracture.
