The SARS-CoV-2 virus is the contributing factor to COVID-19. Antigens for the virus are found using SARS-CoV-2 antibody testing. Using SARS-CoV-2 antibody tests, it is possible to identify individuals who may have had the SARS-CoV-2 virus or recovered from COVID-19. To find out if they still have a COVID-19 infection, they should not use antibody tests.
