Get a spine MRI done to see if lipoma is not pinching on anything.
any history of numbness of legs and truma to the back should be ruled out.

Sometimes Lipoma can cause neuropathy,
Spinal Lipoma condition cause neuritis.
As Dr. Rahul sugested we have to go for MRI

Lipoma can have neural involvement.
Especially when it is present on the lower back, it may compress on the lumbar spinal cord which seems to be the reason behind the low back pain of the patient.
Plus the characteristic of pain , that it increases after walking or lying down is suggestive of neural involvement.

Hi Dr.Frazana ,
Does patient has radiating pain from lumbar spine to thigh ,calf muscle and pain.
Is there claudication that mean pts feel pain on walking .How is the finding of straight leg raising test which is done for compressive pathology of spine nerve .
You haven't started the location of lipoma and it's size.Its good to do Ultrasounogram of it's swelling and rule out any compression done by lipoma .Most of the time lipoma are incidentally diagosis during other kind of problem patient seek for !
If the numbness is severe then it would be best for request for MRI lumbosacral done!

Rule out Ankylosing Spondylitis. Lipoma wont be causing such severe pain
