Anaerobic exercises are exercises that are performed with higher intensity and require more power. It breaks down glucose without using oxygen and is based on the principle that excessive energy is needed for a short span of time, such that the oxygen demand surpasses the oxygen supply. Weightlifting, jumping, sprinting, biking, and high-intensity interval training (HIIT) are few examples. It enhances bone density and strength, weight management, develops power, boosts energy and metabolism, improves lactic threshold, protects joints, overcomes depression, and decreases the chance of diseases.
