Bump On Rib Cage

If a lump on the rib cage is seen, it is most probably a lipoma. It is the collection and accumulation of fatty tissue that is located under the surface of the skin that covers the rib cage. In most cases, the overgrowth is non-tender and slightly movable but attached to the location. Depending on the firmness and lining, the type of growth can be due to bone overgrowth, muscle inflammation, or neuroma.
