Cardiotocography is a technique of monitoring the heartbeats and the uterine contractions of the fetus using a device called a cardiotocograph. The procedure is carried out by placing an instrument on the abdomen of the pregnant mother. This is a very common investigation these days and is commonly advised in high-risk pregnancies.
