Diaphragm Irritation

The diaphragm is located in the lower part of the lungs and is an important muscle in respiration. In addition, this muscle is the cause of hiccups. Diaphragm irritation occurs due to injury or inflammation of the phrenic nerve. The symptoms include pain in the chest and lower ribs.
