Hi doctor,

I have been taking Telma 40 for two months, and my blood pressure, which was initially 152/100 mm of Hg, has now come down to 140/90. However, I have been experiencing pain on the top of my head. Can you suggest why my blood pressure is not coming down and the reason for my headache?

3. Cut down on fatty foods, junk foods, and saturated fats.

6. Ensure proper sleep, with a minimum of eight hours per 24 hours, including at least six hours of uninterrupted sleep at night.

7. Maintain a healthy weight, even if you are within the normal range.

8. Stay well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water.

9. Practice deep breathing exercises and meditation to reduce stress.

10. When measuring your blood pressure, make sure you are in a relaxed state. Sit quietly for five minutes in a calm room without engaging in conversation. Empty your bladder and bowels before checking your blood pressure. Avoid consuming tea or coffee 30 minutes before measuring. Sit on a chair with your feet on the ground, back supported, and your arm supported on a table, positioning the cuff at the level of your heart. Check your blood pressure and repeat it after 5 minutes. Perform the same procedure on the other arm and repeat after five minutes. Throughout this process, maintain a relaxed and quiet demeanor. The arm with higher blood pressure readings is your actual blood pressure. It is a good practice to take at least two or more readings and calculate the average for your actual blood pressure.

Specific measures should be determined based on an individual patient's risk profile and metabolic characteristics. Additionally, it is advisable to have renal function tests and electrolyte levels assessed before considering any changes in treatment.
