Infected Apocrine Gland

The apocrine gland is the medical term for the sweat gland. When the hair follicles and the sweat glands get blocked, it results in painful bumps on the skin. This bump or cyst can get infected by bacteria, which can spread to the nearby sweat glands and hair follicles. The armpits, groin, and the area under the breast are most prone.
