Iridocyclitis

Iridocyclitis is an eye condition characterized by inflammation of the iris and ciliary body (structures of the eye's middle layer). This condition happens due to an injury, infection, and related conditions such as arthritis. In iridocyclitis, the eyes appear red, painful, and sensitive to light. Loss of vision may occur in rare cases. Most cases of iridocyclitis are mild and temporary and resolve within a few days or weeks. However, treatment involves treating the underlying condition if an infection or disease causes iridocyclitis.
