Iris implantation is the process of implanting an artificial iris in the eye. The entire procedure is performed under local anesthesia so the patient will not feel any pain. It is indicated in people who lack a natural iris or those with damaged iris following an injury. Complications of iris implantation include vision loss and permanent eye damage.
