Lactitol

Lactitol is an orally dispensed osmotic laxative useful for the treatment of chronic idiopathic constipation. Lactitol enables to stimulate of bowel activities by pulling out water into the gastrointestinal tract. It is also used in the prevention of hepatic encephalopathy (reduction in brain processing due to liver disease).
