Loss Of Taste Coronavirus

Loss of taste in an individual affected by COVID 19 is a common symptom reported in several patients. The symptom is often associated with loss of smell because these two senses are very closely related. The coronavirus binds to a certain protein that is abundant in the mouth and nose cells. However, the virus may directly affect the nerves responsible for stimulating the sense of taste. Loss of taste usually subsides after recovering from the disease.
