Occult Sepsis

Occult sepsis is a type of intra-abdominal sepsis caused by bacterial infestation in the peritoneal space. It is either localized or generalized in type. Occult sepsis usually shows signs such as high fever, abdominal tenderness, palpitation, abdominal pain, or inflammation. Depending on the severity, it can be either treated with broad-spectrum antibiotics or surgery.
