Premature atrial contractions are premature heartbeats that are produced by the upper chambers of the heart. Pregnancy, high blood pressure, stress, fatigue, caffeine, alcohol, smoking, hay fever medications, asthma medications, etc., cause premature atrial contractions. This is not a serious condition in most scenarios, and it does not require any treatment.
