Partial Nail Excision

Partial nail excision is also known as matrixectomy. It is performed under local anesthesia. It only takes a few minutes time to remove the ingrown portion of the large toenail. The recovery usually takes about six weeks to heal completely. It has a good chance of recurrence and might require successive procedures later on.
