Proptosis refers to the bulging of one or both eyes from their natural position. It is also known as exophthalmos. It is more likely to occur in people with Grave's disease and hyperthyroidism. Eye pain, throbbing sensation in the eyes, and blurred or double vision are common symptoms. Treatment depends on the underlying conditions that cause this condition.
