Pyocele

Pyocele is defined as a collection of pus within the scrotal sac between the visceral and parietal tunica vaginalis enveloping the testicle. Usually, a scrotal pyocele develops as a complication of ruptured appendicitis or spontaneous bacterial peritonitis. People with pyocele typically complain of the insidious onset of testicular pain and swelling, with or without a recent history of urethral discharge. The treatment for a pyocele consists of pain control, fluid resuscitation, and broad-spectrum antibiotics.
