Rectal Biopsy

Rectal biopsy refers to the process of surgically removing a small portion of tissues from the rectum for examination and evaluation. Symptoms like the presence of blood, pus, and mucus in the stool often lead to rectal biopsy to determine the presence of any infection, inflammation, abscess, tumor, etc in the rectal region. Examination of the rectal region with the help of gloved and lubricated fingers of the doctor is done prior to rectal biopsy to check for any abnormalities.
