Rectal Stimulation

Rectal stimulation is the insertion of the finger in the rectum, by giving a circular motion with the tip of the finger pointing toward the spine. This is used for neurogenic bowel management in children with a spine injury. This management option initiates the bowel contract to push stool out of the rectum.
