Scheuermann's Kyphosis

Abnormal curvature (too much) of the spine in the mid-back is known as kyphosis. Scheuermann's kyphosis is a type of kyphosis in which the vertebrae is wedge-shaped, causing the mid-back to curve more than 40-45 degrees, giving an appearance of a hump. It occurs due to abnormalities in bone and vertebrae during growth and development. X-ray of the spine is usually done to diagnose the condition. Treatment depends on the symptoms and severity and includes surgical correction.
