Shock Therapy

Shock therapy uses controlled electric currents in patients with severe depression, mania, or suicidal thoughts who failed to respond to medications. These electric currents induce a brief seizure in the brain. This procedure is done under general anesthesia. It is known as electroconvulsive therapy.
