A skin test that involves removal of dead cells on the surface of the skin is called skin scraping. These scrapings are removed carefully and examined in the lab for any pathologies. It is useful in diagnosing any fungal or bacterial infection of the skin. The skin is removed with the help of a scalpel blade.
