Sycosis Barbae

Pseudofolliculitis barbae is otherwise known as sycosis barbae. It is an inflammatory disorder affecting follicular and perifollicular skin that results from ingrown hairs caused by hair removal. In this condition, large swollen areas with tender bumps having pus discharge appear on the affected region. It is managed by applying anti-staphylococcal antibiotics.
