Testosterone Blockers

Testosterone blockers are also called anti-androgens or androgen antagonists. Androgens are hormones responsible for the development of sexual characteristics in males. They work by binding to the androgen receptors causing a blockage in the effects of androgen. Anti-androgen is used to treat prostate cancer and to reduce unwanted facial hair. In women, anti-androgens are used to treat PCOS (polycystic ovarian disease) and adrenal hyperplasia.
