Valgus

When the ends of bones involved in a joint are bent towards the outside, it is called a valgus deformity. It is commonly found in the knees. In an affected individual, the knee joint is angled outward and away from the body's midline. And because of this, the leg has a typical bow-shaped appearance. One may need to wear braces and splints or do a surgical correction to treat this condition.
