Accessory Parotid Gland

Accessory salivary glands are a collection of ectopic salivary tissues separate from the main parotid gland. These accessory salivary glands are generally located close to the parotid gland. Accessory parotid glands are present in about 20 % of the population, and their diagnosis is often incidental. They are more prone to parotid tumors as compared to the main parotid gland.
