Blocked Stent

A blocked stent is a rare complication after stent placement inside a blood vessel. A stent is placed to open up a clogged artery which either gets blocked or narrowed down by cholesterol plaques. This stent may occasionally get blocked by further atherosclerotic plaques or scar formation around it. This may require surgical correction.
