Dental Implant Failure

Dental implant failure can present with pain or discomfort, difficulty in chewing, swollen gums, or loosening the implant itself or the replaced tooth. Although dental implants have a high success rate, some failures are also noticed. Implant failure can be because of localized infection or bone loss due to any underlying systemic disease. The implant is removed under local anesthesia and can be placed again after cleaning the area.
