It is marked by a dull, burning, or sharp pain, and in infants, ear pain causes them to be fastidious and grumpy. It can also present with hearing difficulty, fluid drainage, fever, difficulty in sleeping, etc. Outer, middle, and inner ear infection, wax build-up, strep throat, sinusitis, temporomandibular disorder, perforated eardrum, impacted tooth, tooth infections, water trapped in the ear are some of the causes for ear pain.
