Imitanib Mesylate

Imatinib mesylate is a protein-kinase inhibitor (signal transduction inhibitor) that stops the signal that causes cancer cell proliferation and is used to treat certain cancers such as acute lymphoblastic and chronic myeloid leukemia. Side effects may include abdominal pain, cramping, a bleeding problem, swelling of the face and limbs, blood in urine, bloody nose and eyes, and blue lips and fingernails.
