Impaired Fasting Glucose

Blood glucose levels checked early in the morning after night-long fasting or fasting for at least eight hours reveal fasting glucose levels, and fasting blood glucose levels below 100 mg/dL are considered to be normal. Prediabetes or impaired fasting blood glucose level refers to levels above 100 but below 125 mg/dL, and levels above 126 mg/dL indicate type 2 diabetes.
