Pai Mutation

Gene mutations that cause plasminogen activator inhibitor 1(PAI-1) deficiency are known as PAI mutations. PAI-1 is a body protein that is essential for normal clotting of the blood. PAI mutation leads to the deficiency of the PAI-1 protein. As a result, the person with the mutation has abnormal bleeding. It is a rare bleeding disorder in which an injury can lead to excessive and prolonged bleeding.

Should I avoid folic acid during MTHFR pregnancy?

Query: Hello doctor, I am 5 weeks pregnant and I have MTHFR and PAI mutations. My doctor recommended me to take Folic acid. I read it should be avoided during MTHFR pregnancies. Along with that I am on Prozac and Euthyrox. What do you think? What should I do? Please help.  Read Full »
