Refractory anemia with excess blasts (RAEB) is a systematic severe subtype of myelodysplastic syndrome illustrated by cytopenia with unilineage or multilineage dysplasia and 5% to 19% explosions in bone marrow or blood. Two types of RAEB are identified: type 1 and type 2 (RAEB-1 and RAEB-2)which are distinguished depending on the percentage of blasts present in bone marrow or blood. Patients generally exhibit symptoms related to one or more cytopenia.
